Wentworth Employee Benefits was formed in 1987.  We specialise in:

  • all forms of pensions: defined contribution and defined benefit
  • employer- sponsored pension schemes including auto-enrolment; personal plans including SIPPs; and all forms of retirement income provision including drawdown and annuities.
  • employer-sponsored risk benefits such as life assurance and income protection.

With experience and expertise the directors are able to offer a high level of specialist advice on employee benefits and retirement planning. All three directors are professionally qualified and hold the statement of professional standing from the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Philip Hitchman has worked in the pensions industry for more than 30 years providing advice and expertise to both individual and corporate clients.

Richard Basford is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institure with over 20 years at Wentworth.  Richard specialises in defined contribution pensions and group risk benefits.

Lisa Basford, Richard's sister, has been a specialist pensions adviser for over 25 years and works closely with many of the company's defined benefit clients.

In addition to the directors Paul Winsor, an associate director, provides client servicing for many of the company's group schemes.

As a result, Wentworth Employee Benefits is able to offer the very highest level of advice and service and aims to maintain its position as the source of technical excellence for its clients.

In December 2012 the FSA (now the FCA) required all advisers to be re-classified in one of the following two categories:

  • Independent financial adviser
  • Restricted adviser

Independent advisers provide advice on all types of retail investments such as saving plans, investment bonds etc.

Restricted advisers are able to specialise in a particular investment field.

Wentworth have always been specialist pensions and employee benefit advisers and we will not dilute our specialism by offering non-pension investment advice. Wentworth have therefore been registered as a restricted adviser since 31 December 2012.
